Silver Shield Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and empowering older adults. We raise awareness about elder abuse and equip seniors with the digital skills and AI tools to live safely and independently.
Are your programs really free? ▼
Yes! All of our programs and workshops are completely free for seniors and their families. We believe every older adult deserves access to safety education and technology training regardless of their financial situation.
Who can attend your workshops? ▼
Our workshops are designed for older adults (55+), their family members, and caregivers. We also offer specialized programs for senior living communities and organizations that serve seniors. No technology experience is required.
What topics do your workshops cover? ▼
Our workshops cover three main areas: (1) Safety & Scam Protection — recognizing elder abuse, identifying scams, understanding your rights; (2) AI & Technology Training — using smartphones, AI assistants, video calls, and everyday apps; (3) Ongoing Support — monthly check-ins and personalized guidance to keep building skills.
How long are the workshops? ▼
Most of our workshops run approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. We also offer shorter introductory sessions and multi-session courses depending on the topic and the needs of your group.
Where are workshops held? ▼
We bring workshops directly to senior living communities, public libraries, community centers, faith organizations, and other venues. Our goal is to come to where seniors already are, making attendance as easy as possible.
What is elder abuse? ▼
Elder abuse is any intentional or negligent act that causes harm or risk of harm to an older adult. This includes physical, emotional, financial, and sexual abuse, as well as neglect. Our programs help seniors and their families recognize the warning signs and know where to get help.

Can my organization host a workshop? ▼
Absolutely! We partner with senior living communities, libraries, faith groups, healthcare organizations, and government agencies. We handle all the content and facilitation — you just provide the space. Visit our Partnership page to learn more.
What ongoing support do you provide after workshops? ▼
After workshops, participants have access to monthly check-ins, a dedicated AI help desk, and personalized guidance. We believe learning should continue long after the workshop ends, and we're here to support that journey.
Do I need any technology or devices to participate? ▼
No prior technology is required to attend a workshop! We welcome seniors of all experience levels. If you have a smartphone or tablet, feel free to bring it — but it's not required. Our workshops are designed to be accessible to everyone.
